This page was created on Monday, January 8, 1996, and at the moment consists of a virtual lecture to take the place of the normally scheduled lecture at 1pm on that day since your's truly is stuck in Washington, DC in a snow storm. (And you thought that I'd just cancel the lecture... no such luck. It's somewhat ironic that it took an act of Congress to get the Federal Government back to work, but an act of Nature closed it right back down again...) Anyway, these first two weeks of C83 are meant to cover the basics of cardiac anatomy and electrophysiology. With the help of some of my friends and colleagues around the world I'd like to teach some of this material electronically. Your objectives are to learn what the following terms mean. I should warn you that some of these items have more than one possible name. The links below will serve as starting points on your search for this knowledge. (Of can use your book(s) as well.) Your first homework assignment is to give me clear and concise definitions of these terms, and also a list of ten new high-quality links to information about cardiac anatomy and electrophysiology. This is due on Friday, January 12. We'll all share these after you hand them in.
