The ACNW OPTIMIZATION TUTORIALS

ACNW ORGANIZING COMMITTEE   |   TUTORIAL DETAILS

There is a great deal of research in optimization in the Chicago-Wisconsin area. To promote further collaboration among the institutions in this area, we are starting in 2005 a series of bi-yearly meetings sponsored by Argonne National Laboratory, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University and the University of Wisconsin Madison. The tutorials bring in distinguished experts who provide an overview of areas that are important to optimization.

The morning session is devoted to invited presentations on the theme of the meeting. Short presentations and panel discussions take place in the afternoon. Plenty of time for interaction is provided during the day.

The ACNW Meetings have a tutorial flavor: the goal is to acquaint our community of areas that are important to optimization. They also provide an opportunity for graduate students to present some of their work and interact with the Chicago-area optimization researchers.
