General Information

The First International Workshop on Multimedia Analysis and Processing (IMAP 2007) will be held in conjunction with the 16th International Conference on Computer Communications and Networking (ICCCN 2007), the 2007 International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC 2007) and the 3rd International Symposium on Multimedia over Wireless (ISMW 2007) in the Turtle Bay Resort, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. Workshop participants and their guest will enjoy the convenience of staying at the conference venue with truly special ICCCN¡¯07 rates. All papers presented at the workshop will be published in the ICCCN 2007 conference proceeding by the IEEE Communications Society.

Scope

The rapid growth in multimedia applications, such as interactive TV, multimedia games, multimedia messenger services, and multimedia visualization, navigation, search, and retrieval over wired and wireless networks have stimulated research for new technologies in the area of multimedia architectures, processing, analysis, and networking. Considerable amounts of research activities in industry and academia have been devoted to developing the enabling technologies that are essential to such multimedia applications. Particularly, the current third generation (3G) wireless systems and the next generation (4G) wireless systems in planning support higher bit rates and mobility so as to provide opportunities for proposing novel multimedia applications and services that can take the maximum advantage of the new systems.

This workshop will provide an excellent forum for experts from around the world to join together and to present their newest accomplishments, exchange latest experiences, and explore future directions in this important and evolving field. It aims at increasing the synergy between academic and industry professionals working in this area. The papers submitted to this workshop should focus on the state-of-the-art research in various important areas related to emerging technologies and standards on analysis, processing, computing, and networking of multimedia information.
