Summer Research Intern, Nokia Networks, Arlington Heights, IL. | Jun. 2014---Sep. 2014
Project: LTE and WiFi coexistence in unlicensed spectrum.
Supervisors: Dr. Rapeepat Ratasuk and Dr. Amitava Ghosh
• Developed a WiFi simulator and investigated the coexistence between LTE in unlicensed spectrum (LTE-U) and WiFi.
• Established a coexistence model and theoretically analyzed the downlink throughput of LTE-U and WiFi systems.
• Proposed and designed a coexistence-aware channel selection algorithm for LTE-U.
Summer Research Intern, Huawei Technologies , Rolling Meadows, IL. | Jun. 2013---Sep. 2013
Project: WiFi integration with LTE cellular networks in data offloading.
Supervisors: Dr. Lukasz Krzymien, Dr. Jialing Liu and Dr. Weimin Xiao
• Established a theoretical model and analyzed the uplink capacity of WiFi network.
• Refined the WiFi simulator and did extenseive simulations to validate the theoretical model. |
Wildcats Team Member, DARPA Spectrum Challenge Competition. | Jan. 2014 - Mar. 2014
• Participated in developing radio protocols and strategies capable of communicating in the presence of other users and interfering signals.
• Collaborated with teammates on signal to noise ration (SNR) estimator design, implementation and measurement using software defined radio in the ORBIT test bed.
• Advanced to the finals (top 15).
Research Team Leader, Internet Technology & Engineering R&D Center, HUST. | Mar. 2009 - Jun. 2011 | • Led a research team focusing on wireless network coding. |
• Got supported by grants from Ministry of Education of China and HUST.
• Proposed a novel scheduling algorithm to extend analog network coding to wireless information exchange. |
