CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN

This week our ECE Advisory Board is meeting on Friday, May 13. This will be the first meeting for our four new Board members from Ford, GM, Rockwell, and the University of Arizona.

Congratulations are in order to Professor Allen Taflove for being selected for the 2004-2005 Faculty/Administrator Honor Roll, presented by the Northwestern University Associated Student Government.

TRAVEL

Professor Bruce Wessels is traveling to Panama City, FL, May 10-12, to attend a workshop for the Army Research Lab.

Professor Wessels is also traveling to Stockholm, Sweden, and Edinburgh, Scotland, May 14-22, to serve as an opponent on a Ph.D. exam at the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, and present two papers at an AFOSR workshop. The papers are titled: "Ultrawide bandwidth, thin film electro-optic modulators for microphotonics," and "InMnAs semiconductors for spintronics".
