CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN

I wish to welcome two new members to our ECE Advisory Board: K. Venkatesh Prasad of the Ford Motor Company and Andrew J. MacDonald of General Motors. We look forward to continued strong interactions with both Ford and GM.

Congratulations to Manijeh Razeghi and Selim Shahriar as winners in the FY2005 Competition Under the Defense University Research Instrumentation Program. The title of the research projects: M. Razeghi, "Vacuum Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer," and S. Shahriar, "Instrumentation for Ultrafast Target Recognition."

The ECE Forum will be held this Thursday, February 24, 2005, from 11:30AM - 1 PM in Room L324. It is sponsored by the IEEE and Eta Kappa Nu Student Chapters at NU.

The ECE Forum facilitates an interactive and open discussion among professors and students on the current ECE department and curriculum. All faculty and students are urged to attend. Free food and soft drinks will be provided.
