ECE Department Weekly Newsletter
April 4, 2005

CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN

Last Friday and Saturday we had a successful Graduate Student Recruiting Weekend, where five of our admitted students visited the department and met with faculty and graduate students before making their decision to accept our offer.

Every year the ECE department publishes an Annual Research Report that describes in detail the research that our ECE faculty and their graduate students have done during the previous year. The ECE department has completed the Annual Report for the 2003-04 academic year which covers the period Sep. 1, 2003 to Aug. 31, 2004. This is the last report completed by our previous Chairman, Prith Banerjee, who I hope is enjoying an excellent time as Dean at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

I thank Prof. Seng Ho, Director of Publicity, Alumni, and Industrial Relations for doing an excellent and difficult job of compiling this report based on input from various faculty. The report is being sent out to to various ECE department chairs, Engineering Deans, and industrial labs. If you wish a hard copy, please write Brooke Hildebrand at brooke@ece.northwestern.edu

The report will be available as a PDF file from our ECE web page.

Interim Chairman
