ECE Department Weekly Newsletter
October 18, 2004

CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN

Last Friday was the deadline for submission of proposals for the Motorola Sponsored Undergraduate Research program. Since the number of proposals received was small, the deadline is being extended to Wednesday, October 20, 2004.

Last Wednesday (October 13) was General Motors day at the McCormick School. As part of the activities, ECE faculty were visited by Alan Taub of GM Research to discuss students recruiting and potential involvement in research in electronics control and embedded systems.

On Friday we bid farewell to Nancy Singer (the ECE Chair Secretary). Nancy is joining UIC as Assistant to the Dean of Engineering. Our best wishes to Nancy for her new position. She shall be missed.
