CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN

We are pleased to continue to receive good news of prestigious awards for our faculty. Last week two faculty members were informed of the following awards:

  • Prof. Manijeh Razeghi was elected Fellow of of The Institute of Physics.

  • Prof. Horace Yuen was elected Fellow of the American Physical Society for seminal contributions to the theory of quantum communications and quantum measurements.

Please join me in congratulating Manijeh and Horace for these awards.

This is final exam week at Northwestern with the holiday break starting next week. This is the last ECEnews for 2004. Best wishes to our students for success on their exams.

On Wednesday, December 8, the ECE Department will hold its Faculty and Staff Holiday Luncheon to celebrate the end of the year and show our appreciation to the outstanding staff members who make the department run smoothly and efficiently.

Best wishes to everyone for joyous holidays and a very Happy New Year.
