CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN I am pleased to distribute the CTEC course evaluation results for the Fall 2003 quarter. As in the past, I am recognizing all the faculty who have scored 5.0 or higher (marked with an asterisk) with a personal letter of thanks. I do realize that it is almost impossible to get CTEC scores of 5.0 in many of our large enrollment undergraduate courses. Hence this recognition should be viewed carefully. We appreciate some of the faculty member's service in teaching those difficult courses.

-Prith Banerjee ECE POTLUCK -- Friday, April 16th at 11:30AM Everyone is invited -- students, faculty, and staff -- to the Second Annual ECE International Pot Luck! A Pot Luck is when each guest brings one dish and everybody shares. Since our department is richly represented by people from a myriad of cultures, this is an event that has mouths watering weeks in advance in anticipation of a culinary adventure: home-cooked secret family recipes -or- a store-bought favorite for those who dare not enter a kitchen. Everything is welcome! Look for the sign-up sheet next to the coffee maker and write in what you plan to bring. So, mark your PDAs for THIS FRIDAY (but set your alarms for the day before, to remind you to start cooking!) TRAVEL
Bruce Wessels is traveling to San Francisco, CA, April 13-15, to
present a paper entitled, "Ferroelectric thin films for
microphotonics," at the Materials Research Society.
