ECE Department Weekly Newsletter
October 20-24, 2003

CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN

This week, the ECE department is celebrating ECE EXPO DAY on Friday October 24 from 9AM-6PM in the ECE Conference Room. The purpose of this event is to familiarize our students, faculty, and visitors with the wide array of research projects being conducted in our department. The day will consist of three sessions (a session for each research area). The first part of each session will consist of five-minute presentations of their research by faculty members in that area. The second part of each session will be a poster session presented by the graduate students in that area. In addition, one of the ECE Advisory Board Members and an ECE Alum, Dennis Fernandez, will give a talk on "Intellectual Property Issues for Startup Companies" at 1:45 p.m.

The complete schedule of talks and list of posters is available on the ECE department web page. I hope that each of you will be able to stop by that day and participate in the first ever ECE EXPO event. Coffee and refreshments will be served all day near the ECE Conference Room.
