CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN

As I mentioned in the last newsletter, our department is looking for four new faculty members in the following areas:

  • Solid-state and photonics with an emphasis on nano-technology.

  • Systems with an emphasis on networking and communication.

  • Computer engineering with an emphasis on computer architecture and VLSI CAD.

The faculty recruiting session has begun in full earnest. We have received more than 200 applications for the above positions and have decided to invite more than 10 for interviews.

I invite all faculty and students to attend as many of the seminars as possible. All the seminars will be held at 11AM each day, and most will be held in the ECE conference room.
