CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN

Since not much happened during this second week of classes this academic year, I shall take the opportunity to update the information that is useful to our ECE community. Listed at the end of this message are all the key administrative committees in the department for 2001-2002.

Three other announcements are in order:

• Deadline for undergraduate research proposals funded by the Motorola gift are due October 8 to <nancy@ece.nwu.edu>.

• On October 11 there is an orientation for all new faculty in the McCormick School.

• Students who need to use PC labs to do homework and other assignments may now have access to room M291, which has 20 PCs with Matlab and other standard software, and the room may be used during the time it is not scheduled for classes. If you need the combination to the lock, please see Deneen Bryce in Room L358.
