CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN

Last week we had the first of the Motorola Distinguished Lecture Series for 2001-02 with the very productive visit of Professor Thomas S. Huang from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He met with our faculty and presented a very interesting seminar.

Last week also was advising week for the Winter quarter which occupied much of the free time of our faculty.

Not much news to report for this week, so please start generating some worthwhile news items for this newsletter.
