CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN

Welcome back from the refreshing Thanksgiving holiday, which was marred only by Ohio State beating Michigan at Michigan.

We have our second ECE faculty meeting of the quarter on Thursday November 29, 2001, at noon, with lunch served at 1:00. Please make every attempt to attend despite the impending end of the year holidays.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES/AWARDS/HONORS

Professor Yehea Ismail has been reappointed to a new three-year term as Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I.

TRAVEL

Professor Prith Banerjee is traveling to Rayleigh, NC, November 27-28, to attend a DARPA PI Meeting.

Professor Banerjee will travel to Natick, MA, on November 30 to visit Mathworks Corporation.

On November 17 and 18, Professor Alan Sahakian traveled to MIT for meetings of the NSF VaNTH ERC, in which he is an investigator.
