On Saturday, April 28, Lynn Borowitz and Michael Englert attended the IEEE Chicago Section student awards luncheon with Alan Sahakian. Lynn was awarded a Student Leadership Award and Michael was awarded a Scholarship Award.
Professor Prith Banerjee is traveling to Boston, MA, May 7, to visit Mathworks Corporation.
Professor Prem Kumar is traveling to Baltimore, MD, May 9-10, to attend CLEO/QELS 2001 -- Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics / Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference, to present an invited paper and three contributed papers with students, and to chair a session.
Professor Jorge Nocedal is traveling to New York, NY, May 5-7, to attend a meeting at Columbia University to Plan IMA Optimization Year (2003).
