CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN

I wish to thank all the faculty and selected undergraduate and graduate students who have spent time over the past two weeks meeting with the Internal Program Review Committee for the ECE Department Program Review. The Internal Review Process is now complete.

We are now preparing for the External Program Review Committee visit scheduled for Wednesday, May 23 and Thursday, May 24. The visitors are:

During these two days, they will be meeting with all the faculty and selected undergraduate and graduate students in the ECE department, the Dean and the Provost, and faculty and chairmen of other departments in the McCormick School. It will be a very exciting time for the department as we identify the critical issues facing our department and prepare strategic plans for improving the department over the next seven years.

Finally, I would like to thank Nancy Singer immensely for completing the most difficult task of arranging the schedules of so many people for both the Internal Reviews and the External Reviews under strict constraints.
