This will be a big week for our department. On Friday, May 19, we will hold our ECE Advisory Board Meeting from 8:30AM-5:30PM. As many of you know, our Board consists of 28 members, 20 from industry and 8 from academia. Look at the department web page for a list of current members. This year, 19 of the Board members will be attending our meeting. The others had to cancel owing to business conflicts, but we shall still have a strong showing. The program of activities will be as follows and will be held in the ECE Conference Room (L324):
10-10:30AM: Experiences with New EE and CE Curricula by Alan Sahakian and Valerie Taylor
10:45-11:45AM: Research Presentations by Chris Jelen, Thrasos Pappas, Randy Freeman, and Andreas Moshovos
12-12:30PM: Meeting with the Dean
2-3:30PM: ECE Open House and Graduate Student Poster Session (4th Floor L Wing Corridor)
3:30-6:00PM: Executive and Feedback Session among Board Members and ECE Directors
The ECE Open House and Poster session will present 35 posters from our ECE graduate students, and will represent the cutting edge work in the six research areas in our department. The poster session is scheduled from 1PM-5PM for everyone, with the board members attending from 2-3:30.
We invite all faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and staff to attend the poster session from 1-5PM on Friday, May 19, in the L wing, 4th floor corridor and see what kinds of research go on in our department.
