ismethod (COM)

Determine if an item is a method of a COM object

Syntax

• ismethod(h, 'name')
  

Arguments

h
   Handle for a COM object previously returned from actxcontrol, actxserver, get, or invoke.

name
   Name of the item to test.

Description

Returns a logical 1 (true) if the specified name is a method that you can call on COM object, h. Otherwise, ismethod returns logical 0 (false).

Examples

Create an Excel application and test to see if SaveWorkspace is a method of the object. ismethod returns true:

• h = actxserver ('Excel.Application');
  
  ismethod(h, 'SaveWorkspace')
  ans =
       1
  

Try the same test on UsableWidth, which is a property, and isevent returns false:

• ismethod(h, 'UsableWidth')
  ans =
       0
