Randy A. Freeman received a B.S. from Cornell University
in 1990, an M.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
in 1992, and Ph.D. from the University of California at Santa Barbara
in 1995, all in Electrical Engineering. He joined the Department
of Electrical and Computer Engineering in January of 1996. He has
been a member of the IEEE Control Systems Society Conference Editorial
Board since 1997, and is currently an Associate Editor for the IEEE
Transactions on Automatic Control and Newsletter Editor for the
American Automatic Control Council. He has served on a number of
Program and Operating Committees for the IEEE Conference on Decision
and Control (CDC) and the American Control Conference (ACC). He
has also co-organized a number of CDC and ACC tutorial workshops,
and his research interests include nonlinear control, robust control,
optimal control, and game theory. Dr. Freeman received a Career
Award from the National Science Foundation in 1997, and he was the
recipient of the 1997-98 ECE Department Best Teacher Award.
