Interactive Visualization of Parallel Geometric Algorithms (D. T. Lee - GEOSHEET Project)

During the past year, we conducted research in the area of geometric computing, and robotics control. We concentrated on the design of web-based interactive visualization tool to facilitate visualization of geometric algorithms. An interactive visualization tool, called GeoSheet, which was running under Sun OS Unix workstations, has been installed on the HP server and is accessible by all students. Students in the following two courses have made use of the tool to do the machine programs. This tool allows the user to enter geometric data, such as rectangles, polygons, etc., directly on the screen, and see computed output on the same or possibly different machine. The screen I/O can be distributed over the Internet.

This research was supported by ONR and supported 2 M.S. and 2 Ph.D. students (one female), and 2 undergraduate students. This resulted in 1 journal paper and 1 conference paper.
