Installing and Configuring Eudora (IMAP)

Installing Eudora

  1. Download Eudora from: http://www.it.northwestern.edu/guidelines/pc-sw.html
  2. Click on the executable file you downloaded from above link

  3. On Enter Your Name window type your full name then click OK

  4. On Enter Your E-Mail Address window type your e-mail address(i.e. username@ece.northwestern.edu) and then click OK

  5. On Select Your Mail Protocol window, select IMAP From the drop down menu then click OK

  6. On Select Your Mail Server window type the name the ECE Mail Server 'pop.ece.northwestern.edu' then click OK

  7. On Enter Your NetID window type your NetID/Username then click OK

  8. On the Welcome to Eudora Setup window click Next

  9. On the Software License Agreement window click Yes
  10. On Choose Components window check all components then click Next
  11. Browse for the Denstination Program Folder and click Next (the default works fine)
  12. Click Next to confirm Eudora installation path
  13. Click Yes to create shortcuts
  14. On Installing Eudora Accessories window click Finish

  15. On Setup Complete window select Yes, I want to restart compter now and Finish
    This will restart your PC

Configuring Eudora

  1. When the PC has rebooted run Eudora from the shortcut on your desktop

  2. On the New Account Wizard click Next

  3. On Account Settings select skip directly to advanced account setup and click finish

  4. From the Tools menu select Options...

  5. Select Getting Started on the left-hand portion of the window
  6. Select Checking Mail on the left-hand portion of the window


  7. Select Incoming Mail from the left-hand portion of the window

  8. Click ok to finish
