Forwarding Mail
Users who wish to forward their ECE mail to another server, may do so simply by creating a file named .forward in their home directory. The contents of the file should be a forwarding address.
For example, if you wanted to forward your ECE mail to pred@example.com you would type the following command in an xterm on one of the ECE UNIX or Linux machines (like those that can be found in the Wilkinson Lab):
echo "pred@example.com" > ~/.forward
To stop forwarding, simply remove the .forward file:
rm ~/.forward
To change your forwarding address, you can either follow the steps above to remove and re-create your .forward file, or you can simply load the .forward file up in your favorite UNIX/Linux editor and change it that way.
